"I love the game, but I aspire to higher things," were the words of a 24-year old baseball player who could have had the chance of earning millions, as many sports players work hard to attain. More on the story here.
How can you not love a guy like this? Many stories are similar to this, yet they never get old because they are about a higher calling. God is the one who calls and they hear, and follow. Listening to God's voice and being obedient to the call are two important elements to becoming true soldiers for God. Our priests had all gone through this, and now, are able to perform their ministerial tasks. To acquiesce to the call is the hardest part. But once "the called" has crossed over, that is it! He becomes a Christ for all. And grace has always been sufficient, never an ounce less.
We pray for Grant Desme and all men to be bold enough in saying yes to God inspite all difficulties.
In retrospect, the act of obedience would have just proven that the hardships really were only tools for greater learning and growth.
Jesus, our Most High Priest, be praised!
