The Maronite Monks

I found this website of the Marionite Monks. I am glad to have found them for I have never heard of them before.

They are a Catholic community dedicated to a life of prayer and Eucharistic Adoration. Here is what the site says:

The Maronite Monks of Most Holy Trinity Monastery are a Catholic community of contemplative monks dedicated to a life of prayer and Eucharistic Adoration—a life of religious reparation and penance for souls—that is, for our brothers and sisters in the world, especially those in most need of our prayers. FAMILY.

We can only assume that

Mary and Joseph

indeed shepherd Jesus

with the love of God.

It couldn't have been done

any other way.

Though we have read

so little about Joseph,

our faith dictates to us

that he was a good father,

a good carpenter

and a good husband to Mary.

Only goodness and kindness

shall follow me

all the days of my life!

Psalm 23:6.

That is how it was

with St. Joseph and with Mary

for God was in them

and they lived

the way of godliness.

As we contemplate

on these words,

we pray

for the millions of parents

who shepherd

God's little children.

We pray

that in each of these families

goodness and kindness

will follow them

wherever they are

and wherever they go.

This is God's way

and the way to bear

good children

raised in the vineyard

of our most loving God.

To Him we give praise!

Now and always! Amen!

to be representatives of his Son, Jesus.
Pour out your blessings,
your gifts wholeheartedly to them
that they may use them wisely
to bring the Gospel of love and peace
to all men.
We pray that those gifts will bear fruits
for their sake
that whatever trials they will encounter
those fruits, particulary,

love, joy and peace,
will help them to endure all
for the love of Christ,
our Most High Priest!
Holy Spirit, come pour out

What is this convocation for priests?

Convocations give priests

an opportunity to step away

from our busy ministries

and build priestly fraternity

by sharing meals, socializing,

praying with one another,

celebrating Mass together, and perhaps

even playing a round of golf.

They provide the chance to spend time

with other priests

that we do not see often enough

because of distance

and the many demands of priestly life.

God be praised for our priests' convocation!

With God's love for them

surely it will sustain them

and rejuvenate them!

Pray for our diocesan priests

Please pray for all our priests in the diocese who are at their annual convocation. It started this Monday, May 5, and ends on Friday, May 9. I love that they are having it at a resort. It is important that they spend time in nurturing their vocation in prayer and wisdom for spiritual growth, at the same time, enjoy each other's company as they dine together, swim in the warm waters, play golf or tennis... God is good!

God be praised for our priests! Jesus, our Most High Priest and King, fill your priests with wisdom and strength, and rejuvenate them! Amen!
