He is such a special priest. I should tell him that if he ever gets back to St. Meinard in Indiana, that he is welcomed to come to dinner at our home in Indiana.

I only know that I was not blessed with all this wonderful information when I was younger and raising a family. What sage advice. Adoration and family prayers are a priority, especially that we are getting busier with church ministries. It is a delight to serve as a family at our Cathedral - all seven of us: my husband and I and all our 5 children. There are more responsibilities to come, so I have to prepare myself and the children. Love and blessings to you, K!Easter Almuenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09633972724785600623noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-486317488754265131.post-37910215511662315182009-03-12T22:00:00.000-07:002009-03-12T22:00:00.000-07:00Dear Easter,I noticed your email address at the to...Dear Easter,
I noticed your email address at the top of the "Tribute to Our Priests" blog and wanted to tell you how nice it is that you have such a blog. I think the priests today have so many challenges and I'm certain that they don't get enough appreciation for their tough work. Anyway, thank you for conceiving this blog and keeping up with it as I'm sure you are really busy yourself.
From KEaster Almuenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09633972724785600623noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-486317488754265131.post-19946908676441606452009-03-02T12:59:00.000-08:002009-03-02T12:59:00.000-08:00What a joy to read this, Cathy! I ...Prayer as a focus of my life was always there. I think I have always done it. In my family it was sustenance just as eating and drinking. We did it before and after meals, before and after a trip. Never missed Mass while on vacation. "We will thank the One who allowed us this enjoyment." (Mom) There were twice yearly pilgrimages to Mother Cabrini's Shrine. And every vacation was centered around not just the museums, zoos, et.al. but also the historic Catholic churches in the area. No one ever doubted the McGlone Catholicity. Actually, there is a lot to be said for being raised with this "blanket of faith." It is always there to warm, comfort and guide.

Thank you too, Fr. John, for your posted homilies. Though I am new to your blog. It is a wonderful way for me to prepare for Sunday Mass! God bless and keep you!

Thank you, Easter for your kind invitation! We, however, retained daily Mass attendance and evening prayers. After my retreat this month I made a commitment to put the morning prayer back and so we have been doing it as a family again.

I really appreciate Fr. John for allowing me to interview him. His response encourages me to continue to persevere in our prayers as a family. Thank you for leaving a comment here.
